DG Weekly Newsletter
If this first week as District Governor is any indication of what my/our (because I can’t forget Jan) year will be like, I can’t wait! We started off with a wonderful installation dinner at the Pavilion at Waters Edge in Fremont. Many PDGs, fellow Rotarians, friends and family were there. Thank you all for coming and for your support. The best MC, PDG Jon Catlin helped the evening flow and our very own Rotary Director Elect, Chris Etienne was our keynote. Thank you both for your great contributions to the evening.
On Friday, July 7, I met with the Spring Lake Club. Club President Brad MacLachlan led the board in discussions about their fund raisers and service projects in the Spring Lake area. Fund raisers include the Shamrock & Roll and Bayou Battle. Great ideas and great fundraisers. In the club meeting we were updated by Steve Butwill on the Po River Clinic project in Liberia. The Po River project was a Global Grant that the Spring Lake club was a part of. AG Kim Blum attended and was part of the board and regular meetings. The Spring Lake Club has a strong core of Rotarians Creating Good in the World. It was also good to see how they support youth and do much in their community.
