HANWASH INITIATIVE

On Saturday May 20, Rotarians will have an opportunity to participate in a day-long series of dynamic, informative, and engaging keynote speeches, interactive discussions, and small working groups regarding our District’s long-term partnership with the Rotary Club of Memorial des Gonaives in Haiti as part of the HANWASH Initiative.

The vision of the HANWASH Initiative is to create a model for Rotarians in Haiti and internationally as well as non-Rotary financing partners to work together in solidarity to bring safe, sustainable, and affordable water and sanitation to everyone in the country. Our District aims to make this vision a reality for the 32,000 inhabitants of the commune of Terre-Neuve. We will do this in the three themes of Rotarian Action: Advocacy, Volunteer Service, and Fundraising.

During the day, you will hear how HANWASH embraces local leadership as a recipe for success and you will have an opportunity to dive into how projects are designed and executed. The collective knowledge of District 6290 Rotarians with WASH and development efforts in Haiti and other countries is rich, long, and fruitful. Your expertise and experience can help us work with our Haitian brothers and sisters to imagine and shape the future of this investment program which is creating hope for hundreds of Haitian Rotarians and thousands of citizens that their country’s future can be transformed for the better.

HANWASH represents a model for Rotary to deliver impact in the WASH Area of Focus. Don’t miss out!
