2023 2024 District Governor, Jeff Coil  Rotary Club of Fremont
Visiting Greenville, Petoskey and Charlevoix
Greenville

The Greenville Rotary club first met in 1927.  It was chartered with 27 members.  Women were first admitted as members in March of 1991.  President Steve Eipper says that membership hovers around 20-25.  The club has a "Friend of Rotary" membership to help people get started by coming to meetings and helping with fundraisers.  These are not formal Rotarians, but it gets people in the door which helps build the Club Family.

The club is very proud of their summer Rhythm on the River Concert Series. It is a 100% Rotary Event with 300-500 people attending per concert.

They are also proud of the Interact Clubs they sponsor. The high school Interact club has 70 members. They also sponsor clubs in the middle School, and 2 elementary schools.

The club has been sending students to the Life Leadership Conference for 49 consecutive years. They try to send at least 3 people each year.

Petoskey

In 2021 the Rotary Club of Petoskey celebrated its 100th anniversary. Chartered November 4, 1921, the Rotary Club of Petoskey has been a leader in service to our community and world from Petoskey, Michigan. The club began with a local group of community leaders organizing to improve our community and have some fun while doing it. President Reg Smith said that they currently have 86 members.

The club has sponsored many community projects over the years. At present the club is contributing approximately $277,315.85 towards the Winter Sports Park putting a roof over the hockey rink. The roof will shield the rink from the elements and keep it usable in case of inclement weather. The Winter Sports Park is part of the City of Petoskey parks system.

Charlevoix

The Rotary Club of Charlevoix meets in the morning at The Happy Troll. The restaurant opens just for the club. They are a lively club at 7:30am.
President Jon VanWagnen says the club is very active with a diverse membership ranging from 20's - 80's in age and representing many key government roles, professions, and businesses.  The club has a long history of supporting youth programs and has an active and successful Strive Program.  The club also has a strong interest in international humanitarian projects and supports economic & agricultural revitalization efforts in Haiti.  It is a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Society club and is consistently in the top 10 - 15% of all District Clubs in per capita Foundation giving.

Their large project / fundraiser is raising $250,000 for the Mt. McSauba Playground Project.
