President Club Paula Jorge members are involved in projects around the area. Even if the Rotary name isn’t present there are likely Elk Rapids Rotarians involved.

 

The club was chartered on June 9, 1950 and has 67 members.

 

The Rotary Club of Elk Rapids has a long tradition of collaboration, communication, coordination, caring and common sense as we do our best to enable grant awardees to survive and grow.

 

Current fundraisers include their First Annual Duct Tape Ball in May, a BBQ in August, a Rock-A-Thon and a Christmas Auction.

 

 

 

Founded 102 years in 1921, President Tim Cook told us that the club had it’s first woman president 30 years ago. The club has 47 members.

They have been involved in many community projects over the years. They include park and playground projects.

 

The club also supports many local organizations including the Boy Scouts, kids athletics, the opera house, the kids backpack program, kids fair day and the Straits Audubon Society.

 

The club has an iron lung that has been used by many clubs in our district.

 

Each year they provide nearly $10,000 in scholarships to high school students.

 

The Cheboygan Club has several fundraisers. They include Dance Cheboygan, a quilt raffle, a rose sale, a golf outing and a calendar sale.

 

 

 

 

 

President John Shea told us the club was chartered in July 2001 with 20 members club as a morning club. In April 2019 they changed to an evening club. The club meets twice a month, once for a social meeting and once for a service project at the Food Club.

 

They are planning a fundraiser for Heart Safe Holland.  The funds will help pay for the annual maintenance fee of software for Ottawa County 911 to track all AEDs in the county.  Pulse Point Respond software will map all AEDs in the county as well as all persons trained in CPR/AED.

 

The club is sponsoring its 2nd Annual Pet Photo Contest. The funds will be part of the Noon Clubs annual budget for Youth Programs, i.e. Rotary Youth Exchange, Interact, Leaders of the 21st Century, Life Leadership, Special Education Luncheon. 

 

The club has a local store fundraiser with Lemon Grass Life & Style in Grand Haven. The owner, Kathy DeVries, has graciously agreed to donate 10% of sales on 4 Mondays. The dates are November 20, November 27, December 4 and December 11.  These funds will go toward Rotary International projects, toilets, wells, and farm equipment.
